A slightly different review of Directions EMEA

The team YAVEON reports

It’s only been a couple of weeks since Directions EMEA, and we are still buzzing. You’ve probably seen our photos and videos—and our heartfelt thanks—on social media. What is still missing are the voices behind the event. What did TEAM YAVEON think of the event?

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

As always, a Directions, i.e., how will our field change in the medium term, what will be the focus in the future, and what new technologies will be important. On a personal note, I was delighted to make new contacts that will improve collaboration in the future.

Jochen Oehrle

What did you like best about Directions?

The feedback from our international partners and also from other German partners that YAVEON is really a great company, and that we are on the right track for the future with many topics. And I can’t forget to mention Michael Ebinger’s presentation, which was excellent.

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

Microsoft clearly places the Power Platform at the center of its business applications and also offers secure and high-performance systems and solutions in the BC-SaaS environment to customers of all sizes.

What did you like best about Directions?

The dinner with our partners from all over the world. It was great to hear how satisfied both the partners and their customers are with our solutions.

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

  • The presentation by Michael Ebinger
  • The YAVEON Partner Dinner
  • Technical lectures (AL Hacking,...)

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

Microsoft is on the "POWER" bandwagon, with Performance Toolkit, small features in debugging, and Teams as the main program for daily work.

What did you like best about Directions?

Directions in Hamburg was really incredible overall, but our partner dinner on the first night was one of my highlights. To exchange ideas with existing and interested partners in such an informal and relaxed atmosphere was really great. Some faces you have only seen via teams or similar before, so having the opportunity to talk in person and get to know each other better was priceless.

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

The topic of Power Platform was more present than ever. Whether from Microsoft directly or partners, it was very prominently featured. And it confirmed my feeling that the Microsoft community generally faces similar challenges. Whether it's the shortage of skilled workers or the challenge of addressing a potential target group correctly. Events like this are just right for that, because we partners can share our knowledge directly and benefit from each other.

What did you like best about Directions?

What I liked most was getting to know our international partners in person. Everyone was extremely friendly. The lectures I attended were all well done, except for the German partner lecture.

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

Unfortunately, only a few, as I was already aware of many of the technical innovations. And Microsoft is pushing the power platform.

What did you like best about Directions?

There was no one best event for me, but my highlights were the keynote on the second day, contacts with potential ISV partners for Switzerland, technical presentations, and last but not least, the Partner Economics Annual Channel Forecast.

What did you like best about Directions?

As an organizer, of course, that the Directions ended without major organizational problems.

Additionally, I loved how the OctoConis and YAVEONis came together.

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

Power Apps can no longer be ignored. Cloud or no cloud is no longer a discussion for Microsoft.

What did you like best about Directions?

For me, it was again the range of sessions that made the event exciting. From technical topics such as the practical implementation of BC integration with Power Platform, to agile project methodology and market development with Microsoft partners, to implementing a diverse and inclusive enterprise.

What new insights (personal and professional) did you gain?

All partners face the same challenges. Whether it's finding and retaining employees or keeping up with the speed of Microsoft. There is a lot of support from Microsoft and others (including MVPs), especially in the technical areas, so that you don't have to start from scratch, for example, how Business Central interacts with Power Platform, Datalake, etc.

What did you like best about Directions?

The session Secrets of Successful Company Mergers and Acquisitions with York and Frank, which I found very emotional. In addition, the lecture from the Women in Dynamics Series, How to Build an Inclusive Company, which focused on the culture of inclusion in companies.

In addition, the presentations about the MS Power platform with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, etc.

This year, we again enjoyed exciting days full of input, and many opportunities to make new contacts, and reconnect with old friends. We exchanged views on a wide variety of topics—even disagreeing sometimes—and we learned from others even as we passed our knowledge on to others.
